HE KNOWS YOU BY NAME.
Does it impress you when you meet someone new and when you see them again that they’re able to call you by name? Does it make you feel special….like you’ve made some kind of small impression on them?
Unfortunately I’m not that person that does that. I’m what you call a “face person”
I recognize your face but not very often can I also put a name to it. Sometimes it’s actually embarrassing. (Brutally honest moment there) LOL
I do know the One that not only knows your face, He knows the number of hairs on your head, He knows the intentions of your heart and He knows your name and calls out to you.
Isaiah 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. (KJV)
and knows every detail there is about you.
1 Samuel 2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. (KJV)
He knows your heart
1 Kings 8:39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;) (KJV)
and he knows the very number of hair on your head.
Luke 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered… (KJV)
The simple fact of knowing that Jesus knows all things about me helps keep me in check and allows me to self examine my own self very often. Sometimes it’s great and sometimes it’s not so great what I see in myself. My flesh can so easily get out of line when I don’t keep my self perfectly guarded.
Do you ever go through tough times and wonder if God’s there or does He hear your cry?
God’s Word assures us that He does hear our cry.
Psalm 40:1
I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. (KJV)
At all times He readily hears the cries of all His saints and best part is…. He never gets tired of hearing our needs.
Psalm 55:17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. (KJV)
Why does it sometimes feel like our prayers are unheard? I can tell you with all assurance that the problem is not with God but it’s with ourselves. Somewhere somehow sin has found an avenue into our lives and sin hinders us from hearing from the Lord. Sometimes it’s not even about sin itself but about an attack from satan and he tries to make us think our prayers are not being heard and sometimes there’s a bigger battle going on in the spiritual realm that we cannot see and the angels are doing battle for us so that they can deliver our answer.
Even David experienced deep despair and tears.
Psalm 69:3 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God. (KJV)
So where do we find our strength during these moments of despair?
We are to seek the Lord desperately and continuously.
He is our strength in time of despair and our joy in all things.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (KJV)
Nehemiah 8:10 ….neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. (KJV)
What a profound and comforting thought to KNOW that God knows not only our name but He knows every detail about us and wants to give us the desires of our heart. He is such a loving God.
It doesn’t matter how far we have traveled away from the Lord…. He never forgets who we are…we aren’t a number, a symbol or an ongoing series but we are so so special to Him. His love for each of us is so deep that there isn’t an earthly understanding. He knows every detail about us personally….
and calls us by name.
