When I played ball and the coach called a time out it was for him to help us regroup, get a game plan and then back into full action of accomplishing what he just instructed us to do…. to win!!!!
Sometimes the time out was just for me and the coach would step out to where I was at to talk to me. He knew I wasn’t focused like I usually was and he wanted my full attention during that game. Sometimes the time out was for me because maybe (this will be hard to believe LOL) but maybe my attitude was bad and it affected the way I played and hurt the team.
Sometimes the time out was called just for me because the coach could tell I was unusually nervous and he wanted to calm me down so I could make good decisions while playing the game… because not only did he want the game won but he also wanted me to win at life. He taught me that through adversity to press on. Stay focused and move forward! To accomplish these things…I had to humble myself and remember it wasn’t just about me… but there was a greater purpose.
Right now…God has called a TIME OUT!!!
Teaching us what’s really important in life.
God knows where we are and He knows our weaknesses the the devil is wreaking havoc on us by causing increased anxiety and fears. Making every attempt to steal our joy!!!
Maybe God has called a “time out” for us because we have been so busy with the daily chaos of life that we’ve become shook up, stressed out and uneasy. We’ve been so distracted and going through the motions that our hearts really haven’t been in a true state of worship to God and He knows that because He knows the heart. Maybe This time out is for us to regroup and calm down remembering that He… God…is in control of ALL things and we aren’t to be anxious for anything!!
PHILIPPIANS 4:6
maybe this time out is so that we can slow ourselves down enough that we can finally see the true blessings that the Lord has been trying to give us but we’ve been too busy to see and accept them.
JEREMIAH 29:11
Maybe the time out was to help us refocus on the things of God. Maybe He is reminding us that all other things have become an idol and He is not pleased with that and He’s giving us another chance to refocus… on Him.
Maybe this time out is for our protection. So that He is able to spare us from the enemies hand. So that we have time to search our hearts and make it right before Him.
This time of quarantine has made me think about how Noah and his family must have felt quarantined to the ark for so long. Don’t you think cabin fever might have set in, but God still kept them there.
That quarantine was for their safety.
God knew what was gonna happen…it was never a surprise to Him….and neither is this!
Is the Lord cleaning up our bad attitude?
We can’t “play church” it must be real and our attitude WILL show where our heart really is at.
Is He protecting us from an eternity possibly separated from Him?
God warns us that we can’t just say “we know Him” and not keep His commandments. When that happens He’s called us a liar and says that He does not really know us. Don’t get upset at me for saying that…. it’s not my words….it’s God’s Word.
read it for yourself in 1 JOHN 2:4
I feel like God has called this time out to give us a chance to think long and hard about things and to bring our hearts into a state of humbleness. We’ve been called to pray like never before. To seek the face of God.
When I played ball all I had to do was take a quick glance at my coach to see the look on his face to know if he approved or disapproved of my decision. When I was at home all I had to do was look into the face of my parents to know if they approved or disapproved of something I was doing.
So God must be telling us to “seek His face” for a reason.
Do we really seek His face? We might glance His direction but if we are honest with ourselves then we will admit that we…a lot of times… look towards Him to see what He will hand to us…. therefore in our selfishness looking at His hands instead of His face. Don’t get me wrong… God loves to give gifts to His children. He wants to give us the desires of our hearts.
PSALM 37:4
But God wants us to seek His face… to look at His expression and see if He is pleased or displeased with our decision and line our actions up accordingly.
If we can be humble, pray and seek His face and turn from all of our ungodly or wicked ways then He will hear us from heaven and He will forgive us of our sins and He will heal our land.
2 CHRONICLES 7:14
We have to remember not to throw away the confidence we have in the Lord and miss out on blessings and rewards He has for us when we endure to the end.
HEBREWS 10:35
Let us use our time out wisely and get a game plan and then go back into full action of accomplishing what He (THE LORD) just instructed us to do…. to win!!!! We win by making our hearts right before Him and making sure our family knows all about Him so that we can all be together in Heaven worshipping the Lord together for eternity!!!
So use this TIME OUT wisely!!! Begin by searching your heart ❤️

Just what I needed to read, we all need to look at ourselves and take that time out, and look for Gods instructions for our lifes

Exactly and I’m thankful for this time that God is giving to us to force a slow down so we can really examine.

This is spot on. The Lord has been showing me how perfect His timing has been across Tom and I’s life these past 2 years, these past 6 months.
I agree that God is mercifully calling us to reflection and repentance and relationship.
Much love too all ❤️

He tells us that He is close to the broken hearted. It’s in our brokenness that we can hear Him the best.
I’m sorry for any trial you’ve had to go through but I’m thankful for you hearing Gods voice and feeling His peace.
