It seems like I’m always starting what I have to say with a question first. This time isn’t any different.
Do you ever have those nights that you cry yourself to sleep because the pressure just seems to be more than you can handle at that moment?
Does the devil whisper in your ear that there isn’t any hope of the situation at hand getting any better?
Every believer struggles no matter the age or where you might be from… you find yourself struggling and wondering if you’re really gonna make it.
I want to remind you that the devil is a liar and he comes to steal, kill and destroy.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV)
I also want to remind you that God is close to them that have a broken heart.
Psalm 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. (KJV)
Gods Word is full of promises to claim and hold on to.
God doesn’t tell us that our life with Him on earth will be easy. He actually warns us to be on constant guard that we will be under attack.
He tell us that when we are in trouble we can run to Him and that we will be safe.
Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. (KJV)
He tell us that when we get in a bind that He will go before us and make crooked paths straight.
Isaiah 45:2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight…(KJV)
He tells us that when things get ugly and we’ve hit rock bottom because of all the wrong choices we made that when we turn to Him that He will make beauty from ashes and a garment of praise.
Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. (KJV)
Gods Word is full of parables to make it easy for us to understand His teachings. His word constantly reminds us who He is….and that in fact He is ALL things good. He warns us of trials and tribulations and still encourages us to NOT lose hope. We get all the way to the end of book and He very lovingly lets us know that He will dry every tear.
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (KJV)
Jesus is right beside us to hold our hand or to carry us in the time of need. He guides us by the Holy Spirit.
He wants to give us the desires of our heart but He wants our desires to glorify Him.
To the person that’s lost a loved one and is silently struggling, to the person that’s strung out on drugs wondering how you found yourself in such a mess and can’t find your way out, to the person who’s marriage is falling apart and needs a miraculous touch for it to survive, to the wayward child that keeps finding themselves making ungodly choices and can’t seem to stop and get out of the hogs pen, to the drunkard that can’t put the bottle down, to the liar that fabricates stories and tells a lie right around the truth that’s on the end of their tongue only to glorify themselves, to the jealous person that covets someone else’s life or things, to the person that simply can’t find forgiveness in their heart. this list can go on forever….. I have hope for you. God loves you too and He only wants your heart. Your sincere heart that loves Him and wants to let Him change all those things in your life that dishonor Him.
Gods Word is full of promises…. a study I did said there’s over 3,500 promises in the Bible.
All of Gods promises end with yes and amen.
It is only through Him that we can turn any negative situation around and allow God the glory for what He wants to do and will do in our life when we turn it over to Him.
He calls us to be fishers of men…. He doesn’t call us to clean the fish. That is only His job but He does call us to disciple and be an example to the ones around us.
God parted the Red Sea and allowed the people of Israel to walk through on dry ground. He says He will ALWAYS make a way of escape.
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (KJV)
He calmed the sea and called Peter to walk on the water towards Him.
He promises that you can be an overcomer.
Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (KJV)
When things get tough and you find yourself crying yourself to sleep or withdrawing from the people you love…. it can be easy to focus on self and our difficulties and giving the devil a place to really tear things up in our lives.
Remember he wants to steal, kill and destroy.
satan laughs when we struggle.
Read the promises about who God is and let them lift your eyes away from your own situation to the God who is infinitely good.
The last promise in the Bible is that He is coming again and that He will come quickly.
Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (KJV)
Let your heart rest easier and let the Lord be lifted high and take a chance to see just exactly how He can make the GREATEST difference in your life.
Be willing to open your heart to the full love that Christ has to offer to you and let Him dry your tears.
Rest in His promises. He is the Redeemer that came to set us free and wants to pour out His Mercy and Grace.
He will break every curse and pull you from the ashes.
He has made you more than a conqueror.
Lift your hands to Him with sincere praise and worship the One that can make a way when there seems to be no other way. He will quiet your heart and bring joy to your soul and show you that even through the toughest times we do have a reason to live and be joyful even in the trial. He will create in you a testimony that will blow your socks off and you will be amazed at His continuous goodness.
Start counting your blessings and put that devil on the run.
We all get tired and wore completely down. No matter how together a person seems to have it… don’t be fooled… we all struggle. The difference is how long a person chooses to stay in that place of torment and self pity or when they choose to get up… dust off…take back what the devil stole and remember that no matter how bad the storm is raging and all the chaos going on inside us or around us…. we have a place to rest and quiet our weary souls and it’s right in the presence of Jesus.
Most times (Not every time) if we are honest with ourselves the crying that’s taking place is brought on by ourselves. A place where we failed to do what was right. So we must always self examine first and let God reveal the unclean that’s in us and have the courage to sincerely repent.
there may be crying at night while we’re alone with our thoughts but when we take the time to remember scripture and turn our broken heart to Jesus then we can rest in Gods promises that there will be joy in the morning.
Psalm 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (KJV)
