We must be willing to allow God to do the work in us but we also must be willing to get ourselves out of the way and let the Lord do the work in those around us.
It can be hard especially when you have such a strong desire to see someone do right or even have a strong desire to inappropriately correct and speak in the flesh instead of the spirit. (OUCH!!! How many toes did that just step on besides my own?)
Our emotions are God given but they also must be under subjection to Him as well.
We better be careful about how we represent God’s Word to others and we sure better be careful about setting an example that goes against God’s Word.
Scripture tells us plainly in Ezekiel….
Ezekiel 13:22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
Ezekiel 13:23 Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. (KJV)
We must be careful about witnessing and playing on people’s emotions. Let the Holy Spirit work on their heart to break their will. We must never be guilty of causing a lost person to believe they’re saved. Let God do the work!!!
