When my kids were little they always made sure that if something good was being dished up that they had “just as much” as the other child. So if one dished something up or divided…. I don’t know…let’s say…..a bowl of ice cream or a candy bar….then the other child got to pick which half or portion they wanted. That always made things equal, right? Because a child’s not going to rip themselves off. LOL
You know God is the same way.
Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (KJV)
Sometimes He puts these profound thoughts in my head and heart and then I struggle to find how to put it into words. This is one of those times…..
and I hope it comes out well.
So a person that’s on death row and a person that constantly tells lies, a person actively living a homosexual lifestyle, or a person that cheats and steals are not equal in how they sin but they are equally separated from God because of their sin.
In our earthly minds that’s hard to wrap around. Because I’ve never necessarily been a “bad person” even prior to Salvation I wasn’t bad but I was sinful and lived daily in it….. as equally separated from God as the person that murdered.
God tells us in His Word that we have all come short of His glory.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (KJV)
So we have all “equally” missed the mark.
What is the mark? The mark is heaven and being with Jesus for all of eternity.
Without Him we canNOT get to heaven. He is the ONLY way there.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: NO MAN cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)
The same way we as sinners are equally separated from God…. An equal amount of His shed blood saves us….just one drop. Praise Jesus!!!
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; (KJV)
Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (KJV)
These scriptures are SO powerful and so full of life that even reading them now for this blog post totally excites me! Gives me Holy Ghost bumps and I can feel His spirit rising up in me! (THE BEST FEELING YOU CAN HAVE THAT CANT BE UNDERSTOOD WITHOUT A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE)
We are saved by the blood of the lamb….which is the blood of Jesus and we serve a LIVING GOD! One that’s actively working in our behalf! Oh praise Jesus that He never gives up on us!
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. (KJV)
So Salvation isn’t just “believing in God” because even the devils believe and they tremble at knowing what God can do and will do at the appointed time. They tremble at knowing they will go to an eternal hell. Their time is limited and getting closer every single day.
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. (KJV)
Salvation is more than just saying you believe in One God or saying you’re a Christian. It’s a matter of a lifestyle. One that’s changed instantly at Salvation. At the very moment of Salvation the things of this world will begin to make you sick! The things the Bible talks about that are not pleasing to Him will make you cringe that you were once part of them. You’ll ask yourself “how was I ever beguiled or tricked into thinking that was ever ok?”
Just as much of Jesus blood will save you from a life of sin. The choice is yours to accept the free gift or to continue rejecting it. Just as much of His blood will change everything in your life. When things seem upside down and you have no hope…. it will give you a life full of hope. Just as much of His blood will bring peace in a time of chaos. Just as much of His blood will bring conviction and cause you to realize things you did that were sinful in God’s eyes that you never thought of before.
Just as much of His blood will change your life and begin allowing you to build a lasting legacy that leads others to the Lord.
The choice is every single persons to make.
Joshua 24:15 …Choose you this day whom ye will serve…. KJV
To the one that’s so deep in the sin of drugs, alcohol, lying, pornography, homosexuality, cheating, gossiping, murder, or whatever sin it might be…. when you ask Jesus into your heart, truly repent of your sins, and promise to live your life for Him and He washes you clean with His blood then you are equally saved and “Just as much” on your way to heaven as the person that that’s been serving Christ their whole life.
Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (KJV)
