This post is a little different than my usual blog posts. I’m just simply sharing some thoughts while trying to encourage you readers.
Have you ever been in a situation where you found that the blessings God intended for you were actually missed due to you didn’t do things the way God ordered?
Let’s talk about the ark of the covenant….
the ark of the covenant had things that God used mightily inside of it.
1. The rod of Aaron (the dead stick that God allowed green leaves to grow on)
2. Broken 10 commandments (the first and original set)
3. A bowl of manna (from when they were wandering in the wilderness)
and He gave specific instructions on how the ark that held these blessings was supposed to be carried.
It was built with two long handles on each side of front and same on back so that the priests could squat down to lower themselves (signaling humbleness to God) get themselves under the handles then lift up and it would then be carried on their shoulders and nobody was allowed to touch the arc itself…. as it was too holy.
David brainstormed and came up with an idea of his own to make an oxcart to carry the arc of the covenant on so that it would make their lives easier. (BIG MISTAKE DAVID) but then again…. how many of us would have done or currently do make things easier for our lives even though it’s against God’s will? 🤔
So….they made an oxcart to make their lives easier.
I know what the Lord is stirring in my spirit but honestly I’m struggling to put it into words. I pray I’m not speaking too soon and out of His will… otherwise this is for nobody’s good and certainly won’t be honoring God but will be in vain. So I’m stopping here to pray.
Lord, I thank you that I can come before You with any need that I have. I’m thankful You know my heart and the desire to put You first always. I know this message that you’re stirring is from You but finding the words for it to make sense is difficult. Give me wisdom to know if You want this message given now or if I’m to wait and let it grow. Give me discernment to know if the word struggle that I’m experiencing is actually a spiritual battle. Release my mind to comprehend what You are telling me and anoint the Words I’m sharing so that it touches others. Let me be always humble before You Lord as I share You with others. In Jesus name… amen.
So to make sure we all understand… The ark of the covenant is a representation of God Himself.
You can’t touch Him unless you’re sanctified and holy!!!!
I don’t know that I fully understood until now that God didn’t strike Uzzah (the man that touched the ark) dead because He was angry at Uzzah. Uzzah died because of David’s sin. David sent the men of Israel to get the ark of God without proper preparations. God had already given specific instructions in handling it and it took special men to do the handling.
Does it kind of remind you of the gospel today?
So many people and even churches that are watering down the gospel to fit their needs instead of changing their lives to fit God’s will.
Not just any person can handle the “things of God” but God wants a sanctified, holy and righteous person to do what He’s called them to do. To have the unction and full anointing of God then you must have things in your life in order…. starting with your heart.
God will bless those that allow His Word to land on the fertile soil of their heart! Just like He blessed Obed-Edom when they stored the ark at David’s request after Uzzah’s death.
Don’t miss God’s blessings for your life by trying to take an easy way out. You must speak when God instructs and you must equally be silent when He instructs. You must go and stop at His request.
Don’t let life get so busy that you can no longer hear the direction of God. That’s the best way to miss His blessing but that blessing won’t be wasted…. your blessing will be given to someone else.
It’s hard to stay that focused in today’s world…. I totally get that but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s an instruction from God.
He will make a way!
We must focus on Him and pray constantly day and night.
We must keep our lives so carefully in tune that we hear his voice of instruction.
We must get those things out of our lives that cause distraction.
Sometimes those things we must get rid of aren’t necessarily sinful…. but they become sinful to us as we let them become first in our lives over God. That’s a painful pill to swallow and it’ll easily get stuck in your throat.
I won’t list things but I will trust that as God prepared me to write this and instructed me on my own life…. that He will certainly do the same for you.
Don’t be shy about asking Him to reveal those things to you. He will… but once He does… then make sure you have enough boldness to get those things out of your life!!!
I won’t mislead… it’ll be a struggle and a mind game. Because the devil (the enemy) doesn’t want you giving those things up as it means he will lose the hold he once had on you in that area. He hates to lose control!
But…. remember… GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN ME/YOU THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD.
Once David went back to retrieve his blessing… he had the men carry it on their shoulders by the poles just as God instructed and it only took a few short steps of doing it the right way… God’s way… that the blessings began to fall and David stopped what he was doing and worshipped God with his whole heart. Sin lost its hold.
If the sin in your life defines how you see or worship God… then you just simply won’t worship Him.
On the contrary… if you let the living Word of God define your view of Him then you will have an open avenue (a pure heart) to worship God with all your soul, strength and might.
Now go repent of whatever it is God led you to repent of and take back your blessing that the devil tried to steal.
Use it for God’s glory!
